| Inventories: Frequently Asked Questions |
| How do I submit the inventory? | |
| There are three sections to each inventory. After completing a section of the inventory, click on the button that asks to submit that section. Ex. (submit section1) | |
| How do I know the results were submitted properly? |
|
| After completing section 3 of the inventory, click the 'submit section3' button. There may be a pause as the inventory is processed. A confirmation screen will appear confirming that the inventory has been
submitted correctly. The message "Thank you for submitting your
Achieving Styles Inventory" will be displayed as well as your
name, time submitted, and email address. If the confirmation screen does not appear within a minute check to see that your internet connection is still working. Press 'Stop' in your browser and reconnect if needed. Press the 'Submit section 3' button on the inventory to re-submit the inventory. |
|
| What shall I do when there is an error message after clicking the 'submit' button when I am using a non-networked computer? |
|
| Probable cause: Your computer has been disconnected from internet. If your computer uses a modem and the phone line then the dial up connection may have timed out while you were answering the questions on the inventory.
Some computers automatically disconnect after 15 minutes of modem inactivity while others never do.
Possible Solution: Check to see that you are still connected to the internet. If you are not you can re-connect and still submit the inventory. Do this without closing your internet browser window. Click the 'submit' button on the inventory when you are re-connected. |
|
| What shall I do when there is an error message after clicking the 'Submit' button when I am using a networked computer? |
|
| Probable cause: The networked computer in your office uses an internet security system that is interfering with the processing system the ASI instruments require. Computers connected to a network may have security 'firewalls' in place that will not allow certain types of data transmissions.
Possible Solution: Try using a computer connected directly to the internet and not through a network. The computer / IT specialist at your office may be able to adjust the internet security features of your network. (If you're nice) |
|
| With which internet browsers does the inventory work? |
|
| The ASI online inventories have been submitted using the Mozilla Foxfire version 1.5.0.10, Netscape Navigator version 3.0, Microsoft Internet Explorer version 4.0 and AOL version 4.0 web browsers. More recent versions of these browsers will also work. JavaScript processing is required and automatic with Mozilla Foxfire and Internet Explorer. The 'Enable JavaScript' setting can be manually adjusted in most browsers through the 'Tools' or 'Options' menu. | |
